  • [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

That cat has found a whole new side of himself. I wonder if he'll ever be able to be contained again.

Franky Wanky looks rather unalarmed that you caught him in such an act!

I hate when there's a little deceased varmint lying outside our patio door. I yell at Lego and Woody, but they really don't seem to care what I say.

I'm glad you had fun with Natasha! And her photos *are* awesome, by the way. Loved the ones of you guys at the strawberry patch!

What a fantastic weekend! I am jealous of your marvelous surroundings and that you get to enjoy Frankenstein (shteen!)every day, critters and all.

Bejesus

my cats leave toys in my shoes and my bed. i am very glad i have never put my foot in my shoe and found a chipmunk.

The weekend before last he caught a garter snake. He acted like he was the coolest thing ever. I'll post photos soon.

He has totally gone native here. I don't think he can leave here. He loves it too much.
